I have used a Brita Water Filter jug for the last 10 years. I use it to fill the kettle as well as for drinking water. The element in the kettle stays clean and shiny until the Brita cartridge needs changing. Then, the chalk starts to cake up on the element, hence I know the filter needs changing. That was, I should say, until my partner installed an Ecoflow at the nearest point to where the water mains enters our property. When the Ecoflow was first installed, when we put any of the hot taps on, the water would come through like milk. The Ecoflow was actually clearing the pipes of the old calcium "fur"!I must admit, I still use my Brita water filter jug, though I drink a lot of bottled water too. I like the taste of the filtered water, especially in tea, but, I find that with the Ecoflow, when the Brita filter starts to expire, the element in the kettle doesn’t become encrusted any more. Since installing the Ecoflow, I can simply rinse the chalk out with the help of a soft brush and I no longer have a use for descaler!
