Hydrogen Peroxide: Used to lighten and
releases oxygen to work with the dye to colour hair (not toxic and less

What side effects can chemicals in hair colourants cause and
are hair dyes unsafe?
Side effects from chemicals such as those mentioned above can
vary. From mild irritation, skin itching, burning and swelling to irritation
which can lead to infection.
There is no hard evidence that hair dyes are unsafe but it
makes sense to be aware of the concerns under investigation and try to reduce
the possible risk – by using Naturtint.

Can I mix the colours?
Yes, but you should always use the same quantity of hair
colourant and colour developer. It is recommended to use the colour developer
from the lighter shade, if applicable.
(e.g. 25% 5N tint + 75% 6G tint + 100% of 6G colour developer)
Do I need to use the whole box each time I colour with
Naturtint?
No. If you are touching up your roots or grey patches, if you
have short hair or if you are blending different colours, mix up separately in a
glass or plastic bowl and keep back the remaining tint and developer (separately
in their individual bottles with their tops closed). Both will keep for several
months, making the mixing both practical for you to achieve the exact shade you
require and cost effective too. Using only smaller amounts when required also
means less environmental waste of unwanted mixture and it is even kinder on the
hair and skin.
Is Naturtint going to damage my hair?

How is Naturtint tested?

USEFUL ADVICE:
Always perform a skin and strand test
Simply mix together a small amount (approx ½
teaspoon) of the liquids you will need in a saucer
Take a small lock of hair and apply the mixture
leaving it for 20 minutes (a further 10 minutes may be required for more
resistant, grey hair). When the strand reaches the desired shade, take
note of the colour development time
Simultaneously test your skin using a swab with a
cotton bud on the inside of your elbow or behind your ear and leave for
48 hours
Re seal the remaining unmixed colourant and developer
bottles and use on your hair if there has been no reaction, so no
product goes to waste
Prevention is better than cure…..a very quick test 2 days
before you colour your hair is all it takes to avoid severe allergic reactions
and testing the colour on a lock of hair can avoid disappointing results.
