Organic Blackstrap Molasses, a natural source of calcium and iron
Meridian Blackstrap Molasses is extracted during the process of cane
sugar production, in which all the beneficial nutrients of the sugar
cane are concentrated into the molasses.
It is the product of the 'third boil' of the sugar juices.
Serving Suggestion:
Blackstrap Molasses is rich in minerals and can be eaten by the spoon,
diluted in hot water and taken as a drink or used in cooking.
Include in savoury recipes as a marinade or to enhance stews, roasts and
casseroles.
In baking it can replace some or all of the sugar content and is
particularly good in dark, rich cakes.
2 tablespoons of blackstrap molasses can provide 400mg calcium - around
