Nutramedix Samento 30ml
NATURE HAS GIVEN US A NEW IMPROVED CAT'S CLAW!
It is called Samento, which is the Ashaninka Indian name for Cat’s Claw, or
Uncaria tomentosa, and it grows in a hidden valley in the Peruvian Amazon. The
combination of actives in the plant are similar to regular Cat’s Claw, but the
effects are not. The complex of actives in regular Cat’s Claw includes a group
of Alkaloids that are known collectively as Tetracyclic Oxindole Alkaloids,
fortunately known as TOA’s for short! In regular Cat's Claw these TOA's can act
to reduce the effectiveness of the key group of actives, the Pentacyclic
Oxindole Alkaloids, or POA’s. It is the unhindered action of these POA’s that
give Samento it's unique power.
Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) has been in continual use by the indigenous
population of Peru for centuries. In fact, the Ashaninka people have relied upon
one specific variety, the 'healing type,' for more than 2,000 years. Only
recently available as a supplement in the west, this remarkable natural variant
is now being used in more than 40 countries of the world.
Samento's beneficial properties are mainly attributed to a group of actives
called pentacyclic oxindole alkaloids (POA's) that act on the cellular immune
system. In most Cat's Claw species, the presence of another group, the
tetracyclic oxindole alkaloids (TOA's) greatly inhibits the action of the POA's.
Samento is certified to be 100% TOA free, and is produced by sustainable harvest
in the Peruvian Amazon.
Researchers in Austria have been evaluating this TOA-free Samento. They have
carried out a trial on 40 patients with active rheumatoid arthritis. Against a
placebo, the TOA-free Samento brought significant relief from painful and
swollen joints. This improvement in condition continued to the full 52-week
period of the trial, and brought also improvements in the Ritchie Index, and
morning stiffness. Samento, Nature's own improved, TOA-free version of Cat's
Claw, was proven more effective.
A similar trial has been carried out in the UK, and it's reported in the British
Naturopathic Journal. Again the TOA-free form known as Samento had a wide range
of therapeutic efficiency, effectively treating 98% of patients whose diverse
list of symptoms included rheumatoid arthritis.
Samento appears to be useful for a broad range of conditions - and has been
particularly helpful for sufferers of Lyme disease, a condition which may be
implicated in many auto-immune disorders - including Rheumatoid Arthritis,
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, MS, and Parkinson's disease.
Samento can be safely combined with most medication, but is not recommended for
those with an allergy to Quinilone based antibiotics. It is also not recommended
prior to transplant surgery, or to those who have undergone transplant surgery,
because of its immune boosting properties.
Pregnant women can safely use Samento after the first trimester. Children can
also safely use Samento. We recommend 3-15 drops or 1 capsule per day as immune
support, but higher doses are recommended for acute conditions. Take Samento at
least half an hour apart from any other supplement to ensure maximum absorption.
