| The Incredible New Sugar Replacement! SlimSweet is the new incredibly exciting revolutionary sweetener unlike ALL other sweeteners! SlimSweet provides benefits no other sweetener can! Now everyone can enjoy SlimSweet’s great sweet taste without worrying about calories, cholesterol, weight gain or harmful insulin surges! SlimSweet is a sweetener derived from a fruit related to the Kiwi Fruit. It contains concentrated fruit extracts, has a low glycaemic index and does not significantly raise circulating levels of glucose and insulin or stimulate lipoprotein lipase, the enzyme involved in fat storage. Only a small amount is needed as it is about 15 times sweeter than table sugar; and a typical serving of 1g provides less than one calorie. SlimSweet is great for weight loss, having thermogenic properties, which means that it helps to burn stored fats. It is recommended in “The Fat Flush Diet” as an optional ingredient in smoothies. SlimSweet is completely natural and safe for children, hypoglycaemics, most diabetics (on the advice of a physician) and anyone who wants to improve their diet significantly. It does not affect blood sugar or insulin levels and does not feed yeast. The product’s inclusion of fructoligosaccharide (FOS) supports the good bacteria in the gut, ultimately aiding with total cleansing and liver support. Truly Healthy! Does not raise Blood Sugar/Insulin Levels One Calorie Per Serving Safe for most Diabetics & hypoglycaemics Available now, £12.99 for 80g from Herbs, Gardens & Health

| Aromatherapy For Colds & Bugs - First in a New Series by Andrea Bellamy, Complimentary Therapist The following article was written especially for “Naturally Yours” by Andrea Bellamy, as the first of a new series. However, I must apologise for this issue being much later than expected. Andrea’s article was intended to address WINTER bugs. However, as there are still so many germs flying about, I’m sure it will helpful even now. Thank you Andrea – Juliet.
As a teenager I seemed to have one cold after another during the autumn and winter months. If only I knew then what I know now I might have got off to a better start. Dosing up on garlic, vitamin C and Echinacea is a great way of protecting yourself and boosting your immunity, but let’s not forget the powerful properties of Aromatherapy oils. My number one winter oil is tea tree as its powerful anti-viral qualities are efficient at fighting cold germs. Used in steam inhalations I have found tea tree consistently reduces the effect of colds and has often killed them off completely when caught at the first stages. A few drops in the bath will also have the same effects. Lavender is one of the most versatile oils and especially useful at this time of the year for stimulating the immunity system. Being an antiseptic and an anti – viral it can also be used in the bath as inhalations for killing off cold germs and as a decongestant it will help to clear the nasal passages at the same time. Eucalyptus is probably the most powerful decongestant and would be my first choice for the more congested periods of a cold. Essential oils can be mixed together and this enhances their power, especially when used in steam inhalations as the hot steam has its own ability to kill germs and relieve congestion. If the cold virus manages to get hold you might find you get other symptoms such as aching and shivering in the early stages, which can be relieved, with a few drops of Marjoram in the bath. It is a very warming oil used in massage where muscles are tense or achy and helps to relieve bronchitis and symptoms of the respiratory system. It blends well with lavender and is especially suitable for an evening bath as both oils help with insomnia. Marjoram should however be used with care as its sedative properties could cause drowsiness. For coughs catarrh and other respiratory symptoms frankincense is excellent for clearing the lungs and relaxing the breathing whilst sandalwood can be used to ease a sore throat and dry cough. Essential oils vary in price according to their extraction methods but I would recommend the relatively inexpensive tea – tree as a must for every first aid cupboard and lavender as oil with many uses. While most Aromatherapy oils are safe to use always seek professional advice before using oils, especially when on children, the elderly or during pregnancy. Andrea Bellamy is a Complementary Therapist practising Aromatherapy massage at Kreative Kutz, 43a High St, St Peters. Contact 01843 867546 for more information.

| Immunecare Colostrum Great For the Immune System and the Gut! Food allergies and intolerance are often caused by a condition known as 'Leaky Gut'. This is where the gut wall becomes damaged and more porous than it should be. As the gut wall becomes more porous or 'leaky', undigested particles of food and bacteria get into the bloodstream and cause allergic and immune reactions. These substances can cause many health problems. There are many causes of Leaky Gut: most common are prescription drugs like anti-inflammatories, HRT, steroids and antibiotics. It can also be caused by stress! If the situation persists, it can lead to conditions like Chronic Fatigue, as your immune system becomes more and more overwhelmed by toxins from the gut. The latest UK medical research has shown that Colostrum can effectively repair this damage to the gut wall, as well as helping your immune system cope with the overload. The potent combination of 37 different immune factors, and a wide range of the Growth Factors that the body produces to heal and repair itself makes Colostrum extremely effective at treating gut disorders where damage has occurred; these include Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Leaky Gut, Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's disease. Colostrum has also been found to be effective with auto-immune problems like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. It is one of the best supplements to protect you from the effects of viruses, bacteria and fungal infections. It offers extra protection from flu, colds and even chronic conditions like ME and Chronic Fatigue. Colostrum is so well respected it is used as part of the Gerson Institute’s therapy to strengthen the immune systems of cancer patients. Immunecare Colostrum products are safe to use indefinitely with no known side effects, negative interactions or toxicity. The medical and scientific establishments have extensively researched the use of Colostrum for over 30 years on four Continents. Immunecare Colostrum is hormone, pesticide, antibiotic and GMO free. It is a pure food supplement from the clean, green New Zealand environment. It costs £19.99 for 120 500mg vegetable capsules.

| Tired, Itching Eyes? My eyes have always been quite sensitive, irritated and itchy, especially during hayfever season, and, to make it worse, I now find myself on the computer more and more. So when one of our suppliers told me about the Lakshmi Ayurvedic Kajal they stock, I thought I’d give it a go. You apply it to the part of your eyelid between your eyelashes and your actual eye, like kohl. It feels cool and soothing straight away, and your eyes become clearer. The kajal is produced on a base of ghee and is able to absorb dirt and dust particles as well as giving effective protection from light. The other ingredients are natural oils, beeswax and carbon. The one I’ve got is the Black Cold one. The Cold ones also contain camphor which gives a very pleasant cooling effect. They are without any preservatives. The excessive air pollution around the world causes a lot of chemicals to be in contact with our eyes. These chemicals alongside with pollen affect the fluid that produces tears. Screen-working, car driving, air-conditioning and the wearing of contact lenses can be the causes of dryness, burning or red eyes. These are the cases Black Kajal Coal Cold is recommended for as it will refresh and clarify the eyes through the high quality of the camphor. Cold Black is £12.50 and lasts ages. Coloured ones are £14.50. Please ask for a leaflet

| Brighton & NEW PRODUCTS! Stephen and I went to The Natural Health Trade Show at Brighton in mid-March. We thought the best new product was SlimSweet, as show on the front cover of this newsletter. We bought some great relaxing music CD’s, with a display stand with headphones so that you can listen to clips of each CD to help you choose. Great to help you unwind and soothe you off to sleep! We have ordered a range of aluminium free natural deodorants and tinted moisturisers with sun protection factor 8, by “Kiss My Face”, and some light-weight manual juicers, good enough to juice wheat grass easily, ideal for beginners or to take on holiday. They retail at just £25. We have some new books on their way, too, and special offer packs of Bioforce Devils Claw and Arnica gel for aches and pains have already arrived. We now also stock the new Imedeen “time perfection” at £71.50 for 60 days. |
| Dazed Long-Tailed Tit We often find a flock of these Long-Tailed birds visiting our Willow tree. We have seen them in Mockett’s Wood, which is just behind the houses across the road from us, so we think they must do a “round”, going from tree to tree. A few Sundays ago, my partner, Stephen, and I were watching them from our first floor kitchen window, and as they flew off in the direction of the woods, one flew into the window in our back door. We opened it carefully and the poor little thing looked dead. But Stephen picked it up and stroked it’s pretty little head and after a while it flew about a meter, landed, pondered for a few moments, then flew away to find the rest!

| And Finally… Help! We only have temporary and personal planning permission for our shop for three years, in order for the Planning Department to evaluate the impact of our business on the locality. We would like to apply for FULL permission now, as we would like to make some improvements to the shop but need to know where we stand before we spend any more money on it. As we had such a struggle and fight to obtain the permission we’ve got in the first place, we need to back our new application up with as much “ammunition” as possible. Hence, we thought perhaps some of our customers might like to write letters of support for us to include in our application. Please don’t feel obligated, we know you are all busy people, but every little helps, and just a short note would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks for your support and custom, Juliet Seeley & Stephen Brazil
