Tinnitus Cleared With Luffa Spray

Mrs. Lewis, one of our regular customers, tried the new Bioforce Luffa Nasal Spray for her husband for hayfever relief.

She came back in shortly after to purchase one for herself and said, “I think it’s working for my husband, you know!”

After she had been using it for a while, she purchased another, and said, “I can’t believe it! It’s got rid of my Tinnitus! Nothing I’ve tried has got rid of that!”. She was so pleased, that she wanted me to tell other customers who it might help.

I’ve been meaning to try it myself for ages, for hayfever and a “bunged up” feeling, and that spurred me on to try the tablets, which just dissolve in your mouth. The tincture gets into your system quicker and better, but, for me, the tablets are more convenient.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

Celebrate Great Taste

The Soil Association’s Organic Week runs from 4th-12th October 2003, and “Great Taste” is only PART of what it’s all about.
10 Reasons to Buy Organic Food
1.It's healthy
On average, organic food contains higher levels of vitamin C and essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and chromium as well as cancer-fighting antioxidants.

2. No nasty additives
Organic food doesn't contain food additives which can cause health problems such as heart disease, osteoporosis, migraines and hyperactivity. Amongst the additives banned by the Soil Association are hydrogenated fat, aspartame (artificial sweetener) and monosodium glutamate.

3. Avoids pesticides
Over 400 chemical pesticides are routinely used in conventional farming and residues are often present in non-organic food. The UK government has recently found high levels of pesticide residues in baby food, spinach, dried fruit, bread, apples, celery, and chips.

4. GM-free
Genetically modified (GM) crops and ingredients are not allowed under organic standards.

5. Reliance on drugs removed
There is growing concern about the high use of antibiotics on farm animals and the possible effects on human health. Soil Association standards prohibit the routine use of antibiotics.

6. No hidden costs
Compare this with the £120m that tax payers fork out to pay for chemicals to be removed from drinking water, mainly as a result of the pesticides used in farming.

7. High standards
Organic food comes from trusted sources. All organic farms and food companies are inspected at least once a year. The standards for organic food are laid down in European law.

8. Care for animals
Animal welfare is taken very seriously under organic standards and is supported by animal rights organisations such as Compassion in World Farming as well as the UK government.

9. Good for wildlife and the environment
The UK government has said that it is better for wildlife, causes lower pollution from sprays, produces less carbon dioxide - the main global warming gas - and less dangerous wastes.

10. Top for taste
Many people prefer organic food because they say it tastes better. A number of top chefs choose organic, and every year many are involved in the Soil Association's Organic Food Awards.
At www.soilassociation.org you will find an organic directory of where to buy organic products in your area, all sorts of organic recipes, latest news issues, etc.

Winter Wellbeing

Propolis is a natural bee product composed of resins, balsams, vegetable rubbers, wax and other substances. Bees use Propolis to narrow the entrance to the hive and block up cracks for the approaching cold season.
The well-known properties of Propolis have prompted people to use it for human health applications and to support the immune system. EPID de-waxed ultra-pure Propolis is a new range, imported by Savant, known for their excellent omega 3-6-9 Udos Oils, and consists of Propolis Syrup with Myrtle, £7.99 for 170ml, orange flavoured chewable tablets, £4.95 for 20, and Balsamic Herb flavoured oral spray, £5.49 for 15ml, enough for 150 puffs! New Bioflow Magnetic Products

Bioflow Pirouette Bracelet The popular Bioflow range of magnetic bracelets, with their unique Central Reverse Polarity technology, have been upgraded, with some new products recently launched. The Classic, with it’s easy velcro fastening, is still available, in blue or grey, for £30. The copper “Duo” and the Gold plate and Stainless Steel “Duet”, with their twin magnets, are also still available, along with the new “Monet”, which is all stainless steel. They cost £50 each and come in small, medium and large.
The new “Ultra” is a gentleman or ladies module in brushed steel with a real black leather strap. It costs £70.
The smart new “Executive” represents a dramatic departure from the traditional Bioflow styling. It’s concealed module is ideal for people who do not want to draw attention to the fact that they are wearing a module on their wrist. At £85, it features a discreet stainless steel module beneath a leather strap in either black or brown with an integral relay magnet. It fastens with a Rolex-style clasp that once set requires no further adjustment.
My favourite, which I’m going to treat myself to once this business is established and I’m out of debt, is the “Pirouette Gold”, as seen in the picture, which comes in gold plated stainless steel for £125. There is also the “Pirouette”, in a bright steel finish for £110.
So, who do you know with aches and pains that might like one for Christmas?
Did you know that Bioflow also have devices to protect us from electro-magnetic radiation produced by mobile phones, office equipment, cordless phones, microwave ovens, computers, etc,?
The “Biophone“, a tiny device which sticks onto a mobile phone and helps reduce “hot ear” costs £30. The “Bioguard”, available as a Lapel Pin or Pendant, is £75. Not bad for continuous protection against these hazards, eh?

Organic Skin Care Demonstration

Did you miss our Anika range launch day with Jérôme, of Anika, back in June?

Well, he’s back in St. Peter’s to do a demonstration for the St. Peter’s Women’s Group on Tuesday 21st October at 7.30pm at The Portland Centre (behind St. Peter’s Church).

Guests are welcome for a small subscription of £1 which includes a tea or coffee!

There has been more and more publicity recently about the harm chemicals can do, when they get in to your system through the skin.

Jérôme delights in showing people his range and testing it on them.

See you there, should be a great evening!

We have descriptions and prices of the Village Bakery range in store, by the till, so please call in to have a look and place your order, or telephone us for more details on 01843 600201

Wildlife Pond

Great Crested Newt Thanks to my friend, Pamela, whose old, disused, swimming pool has become a breeding place for Newts, and is soon to be filled in, at last we have some in the pond!

I’ve been going to Pamela’s early Sunday mornings, before I open the shop, regularly, armed with buckets and nets, “rescuing” as many Newts as I can, usually 15-20 at a time, as well as Frogs and Toads, which jump in and can’t get back out. Then I take them to our pond, tip them in, and watch them settle in to their lovely, new, purpose-built home!

The only problem is, as the Newts have interbred for so long, they need some new breeding partners to keep them “true to form”. Can anyone bring us some? Ours are, apparently, losing some of their markings.

I would love to have some Great Crested Newts in our pond, like the one in the picture!
