| FIGHT NOW TO KEEP HIGH STRENGTH VITAMINS The European Union (EU) is now working to set MAXIMUM PERMITTED LEVELS for nutrients in food supplements.
The EU Commission will set these levels towards the end of 2007, and the early signs suggest they will be VERY MUCH LOWER than those already available in the UK and some other member states. This means that your safe and effective higher range vitamin and mineral supplements will be forced off the market.
It seems that Brussels is fully prepared to sacrifice the needs and wishes of British consumers - they indicate it is a price worth paying to have a harmonised market across all member states.
YOUR CHANCE TO HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Please take a little of your time to help us keep our vitamins and minerals at safe and beneficial dose levels. Come into our store to sign the paper petition and/or sign online at; www.consumersforhealthchoice.com where you can also find out further information, print copies of the paper petition, and find details of how to write to the EU Commissioner, Marcos Kyprianou.

| The value of Touch and Talk by Jane Henry mipti bcma apnt gcmt Today to touch another person is often looked upon as an invasion of privacy, even among teenage and adult family members touch is too often avoided.
In our modern world we have little time for talking with and listening to people. Why it is I do not know (perhaps the television habit) but all too frequently the only discourse we experience is that of being talked at and not listened to.
It is often not realised that an hours therapy session of massage of the body or feet (reflexology) provides that comforting touch and talk opportunity. Don’t misunderstand me. I do not mean the irritating mindless chatter of some hairdressers but the genuine interested listening to and chatting with each other.
The older generation, who were brought up to be self sufficient and “get on with it” or “pull yourself together” are the very people who are so in need of some “touch and talk”. In my job as a Holistic Therapist I come across many elderly people who all have the same comment ‘’ its so nice to have someone to talk to’’ or ‘’I never see anyone.’’ Of course they do see people but do not “see” people.
Some of my most rewarding sessions are when I visit the elderly at home, sometimes “home” is a care home; staffed by caring but very busy young people who just do not have time to do much therapeutic touching and genuine talking with them.
The physical and emotional benefits of touch and talk are immense and out of all proportion to the costs and time involved. In this article I have concentrated on the elderly but my message applies just as much to the younger in society, we are all so busy today we feel we scarcely have any time for ourselves let alone trying to fit in other folk.
Have you ever thought that one of the benefits of a holiday is that you probably do not watch so much TV or read newspapers. Both are largely experiences of being talked at mainly to tell you how bad everything is in the country and across the world and how guilty you should feel, or how inadequate your car, home or body shape is. The benefit of being talked with is that it is mostly the cheerful things that are discussed.
So remember, Body Massage or Reflexology is much more than muscle relaxation and toning - it is also the emotional therapy of touch and talk.

| Cacao Nibs Most chocolate these days is cooked to high temperatures, and white sugar, milk, saturated fat and hydrogenated oils are added, making it bad for you. It also goes through chemical processes during manufacturing.
Chocolate actually comes from the Theobroma Cacao Tree. The large pod, which you can see in the picture, is rich in antioxidants, live enzymes and phyto-nutrients including magnesium, serotonin, iron, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and vitamins A,B,C,D and E.
Try Gillian McKeith’s Raw Cacao Nibs sprinkled on cereal or fruit salad. They are £3.99 for 90g. Her Cacao Bean Superfood Bars are delicious, too, at £1.69 for 60g.

| Echinacea Against Colds A new study from the US suggests that taking the herb Echinacea may cut the risk of catching the common cold by almost 60 per cent.
