Aqua Oleum Fennel Essential Oil 10ml

The essential oil is distilled from freshly crushed seeds, yielding a colourless to pale yellow oil with an aniseed like odour. Both aniseed and fennel seed oils have a high anethol content and both solidify at low temperatures. This essential oil is predominantly used in the liquor industry, with France the largest European consumer. For many years now the French have been unable to satisfy demand from domestic supply and consequently import thousands of tonnes from Macedonia, Bulgaria and India.

When we previously purchased from France, we found that we were sold Bulgarian oil labelled as French in origin. We now buy directly from Bulgaria. Although our oil is extracted specifically from the seeds, it is also possible to extract oil from the leaves, flowers and stems.

Other trace elements include beta-pinene, methyl chavicol, myrcene and limonene.
