Aqua Oleum Spanish Marjoram Essential Oil 10ml

In volume terms more popular than the above and somewhat cheaper. However the Spanish Oil has a very high 1,8-cineol content which varies from 28% to as high as 75% in some cases. The possibilities of adulteration are very high with this oil as Spain also produces large quantities of 1,8-cineol from locally produced Eucalyptus Oil.

This is probably the main reason for the deterioration in demand for this oil within the perfumery and flavour industries. In our opinion the oil is somewhat overpriced for such a quality, but this is the only source recognised at present. Attempts to cultivate the plant and produce the oil in neighbouring Portugal have so far proved unsuccessful, as the resultant essential oil is very high in linalool and low in cineol.

The Portuguese oil is from Wild Marjoram, whilst the Spanish oil is derived from a controlled cultivation.
