Click on pic to read the article. 23/11/04 Article in Thanet Times about Green Apple Award  Click on pic to see the article. 4/11/04 National Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice SILVER Winner, Houses of Parliament Herbs, Gardens & Health were presented with a silver award in the Houses of Parliament today (Thursday 4th November 2004)! These awards are for environmental best practice. Michael Cooke, Chairman of the National Green Apple Awards Judging Panel, said that ours was for work done in our health shop to encourage conservation and a healthy lifestyle, and for developing our wildlife garden and rescuing a colony of Newts. The award was presented to Juliet Seeley, proprietor, by award-winning actress Janie Dee, and the event was sponsored by Patricia Hewitt MP. Four Judges came to see our shop at the end of September. They were shown the environmentally-friendly cleaning products we sell, the mainly organic foods, the wild bird food, boxes, etc, and the Landlife charity wildflower seeds, as well as our wildlife garden. They were also shown a copy of an article in The Telegraph about using bicarbonate of soda and citric acid for eco-friendly cleaning of sinks and unblocking drains, quoting our website, www.herbsgardenshealth.com, as rare suppliers of these goods in larger quantities. 16/10/04 Rachel Simhon of The Telegraph mentions our website AGAIN! Although The House of Lords voted against the UK bringing into our law the EU Food Supplements Directive, the Government still voted it through, after some controversial Standing Committee member-changing just before the meeting.
